Spelling
This page is for the person who writes the notes. It covers the spell check of the editor.
What the spell check marks
Your browser checks the spelling of a note while you write. It underlines a word that it does not know. Right-click the word to see the suggestions of your browser, or to add the word to its dictionary.
The spell check skips text that is not prose: code, a web address, HTML, the front matter at the top of a note, and math. The text of a link and of an image description stays in the check.
Languages
Your browser chooses the languages and holds the dictionary. To check a different language, add that language to the spell check settings of your browser. A browser with its spell check turned off shows no marks.
tidy notebook does not check grammar. Some browsers can check grammar through the same marks when you turn that on in the browser.
Turn the spell check off
Open Settings and clear Check spelling in the Spelling section. The choice goes to your account, so your other devices follow it.
